Tenth Annual Nevadaween
We had our Tenth Annual Nevadaween on October 31, 2009.
State Senator John Lee was our guest speaker.  We had lots of events, activities, birthday cake, and balloons for all of our visitors.
Our Annual Soup-Cook Off  is always a big hit with visitors!

Settlement Day 2009
We had a Pioneer Breakfast to celebrate the first settlement in the Las Vegas Valley.  Friend Ashley Hall coordinated this event - we had flapjacks and dutch oven potatoes and onions.
Music was provided by the Nelson Family Band.
Everyone had an excellent breakfast.
Las Vegas American Civil War Reenactment
Over Nevada Day weekend, the Southern Nevada Living History Association hosted the largest American Civil War Reenactment in Las Vegas, NV. After you visit the Old Mormon Fort the Saturday of NV Day Weekend, it is worth comming on out to see the afternoon and evening activities of the Reenactment.

It was held in conjunction with the American Civil War Society from Southern California, and Reenactors from across the Southwest United States. We have over 300 participants, including 8 cannons, 16 mounted soldiers and 8 period vendors. Over 4,000 people came out to visit us during the course of the weekend.

While we do focus on the American Civil War, we also include Historical Reenacting of various time periods and provide Educational Programs for the School district and the Boy Scouts of America.

Soldier's of the Fort
These are a few Pictures of the Civil War Reenactors who give their time to provide a Living History program down at the Old Mormon Fort State Park. We are also provide other Historical Reenactors from various time periods, and are honored to work with the local chapters of the Son's of the Union Veterans, Son's of the Confederate Veterans, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Las Vegas Civil War Roundtable.
Soldiers of the Fort Volunteers. This is a picture of half the Reenactors who help out for our Living History programs. We represent the 9th US Infantry, Company D after the end of the American Civil War from 1867-1869 actually stationed here.
Inside the Fort. This shows the one remaining Tower, most of the front gate, and one of the two partial side walls. The Southeast Tower and part of the East Wall were turned into a rectangular Farm Building after the American Civil War.
The Son's of the Union and Confederate Veterans Memorial Day Service at Woodlawn Cemetary every Memorial Day (observed). The SNLHA provided the rifle detail standing in the background.
